Delivered YZF-R125 5D7W!

First of all

This is a continuation of the previous blog “Purchased YZF-R125 5D7W by mail order!”.

In February 2021, I purchased a moto after 21 years.
And I thought and learned a lot through this experience.
So as a reminder, I will summarize the process until moto was delivered.

This time, I summarized as follows.

  • Things to do after purchase and before delivery of moto
  • Things to do at the time of delivery of moto

Delivered the moto

1.

In the email from the shop informing me that the vehicle had been shipped, it said “The carrier will contact you to arrange a delivery date”.

A week later, the transporter contacted us and the next day (6 March 2021), the vehicle was to be delivered.

The shop then sent me an email apologizing, but I felt “something like…”.
Though it was the same with the maintenance for delivery and shipping, I guess it was wrong that I didn’t confirm the schedule first.

Regarding the transport, it is supposed to be changed twice, from the shop → Fukuoka → Relay point → my home.
The moto is stored indoors and as long as it would not rain while the truck was moving, the moto would not be exposed to rainwater.

2.

Finally, the moto was delivered.

<Arrival of carrier car>

“No kidding, I didn’t order that many…”
It joked, but they were delivered by a truck.
I was a little surprised because I had imagined it would be delivered by a light truck.
(If a truck (medium-size truck?) suddenly arrives, it is difficult to find a parking space and so on).

According to the carrier, this is a busy season of year and there is a rush to deliver motos, especially on Saturdays.
It seems that other motos (about five) are also being delivered today.
Within five minutes, the moto was unloaded from the truck.

There were no raindrop marks on it, so they were not rained on during transport?

3.

He asked me to check the exterior, but I replied that “I had actually purchased the moto by mail-order and this was the first time I had seen it”.
He looked aghast.

<Excerpt of delivery slip>

The checklist on the slip describes the condition at the time of receipt, so they asked me to check the parts that were in good condition.
However, I was more concerned about the scratches at the time of receipt, and he laughed at me.

I was made to sign before I could understand what was going on, and he left the place quickly.
He was gone for less than 15 minutes.
In many ways, he is real professional.

4.

<Receipts>

The following items were received at this time.

  • Moto
  • 2 keys
  • Delivery slip

5.

<Moto equipment>

I remove the seat and check the on-board tools.
Unfortunately, there was no attachment included to prevent oil from pouring onto the muffler during an oil change.

By the way, this moto is without ABS model.
So the space for the ABS actuator is open.

6.

<Left rear section of the moto>

I watch the long-awaited YZF-R125 carefully.
Just looking at it, time flies by.

It is in better condition than I had imagined.

7.

At first, I checked the parts that had been replaced by the previous owner.
From the photos on Goo Bike, I could see that the number plate bracket had been replaced, but it appears that the mirror was not a genuine part either.

<Number plate bracket>

It seems self-made.

8.

<Mirror>

It doesn’t seem a genuine part.

9.

In addition, the grips had been replaced.
Both sides were scratched, probably by holding the bar ends with pliers.

10.

Also, the slider that should be under the step is not attached.
Moreover, the right-hand set screw is damaged…

11.

But the engine starts once.
It is a really good-looking moto.
I just appreciate the handling and storage conditions of the previous owner and shop.

Further inspections will be carried out.
Please see the maintenance record “Inspection of delivered moto”.
