1. To prevent scratches on the upper side cowl.
The R125 (5D7) has a bracket on the outside of the upper side cowl to hold the side cover in place.
This bracket is a problem, and when removing and installing the upper side cowl, I bump it and scratch it.
If you just remove the cowl, you won’t hit it, but when you hold the cowl with one hand and remove the electric connector with the other hand, the momentum of removing the connector will hit it.
This is where these bracket covers, or rather chair socks, come in handy.
Just use this to minimize damage to the upper side cowl. The bracket cover is a great help.

3. Product review
1) Good points
- There is a big difference between having a cover and not having a cover.
- Strong and sturdy, as it is designed for chair legs.
- Slightly larger than the diameter of the bracket, so no difficulty in mounting and dismounting.
- Enough to put on both sides. (One escaped, now there are three.)
- Best of all, they are inexpensive!
2) Unsatisfied points
- Concerned that the inner fabric gets caught on the sharp edges of the bracket. (Not an issue as it’s not intended for the same purpose).
- Alpaca is upside down, which is a bit depressing
4. Summary
I have got into the habit of putting this cover on when I remove the upper side cowl, in the same way that I put a cover on my moto.
As I have to remove and install it many times, if I fail to take these little precautions, I can easily get scratches on it.
Or rather, I have already scratched it quite a lot…
