1. Background of arrangements
When removing the lower side cowl tapping screw, I noticed that if I used my short hexagon bit socket, it would hit the lower side cowl.
So, I bought this long hexagon bit socket to avoid damaging the cowl.
You can of course remove it with the hexagonal spanner in your car tool.
However, considering that I will be removing and installing the cowl/panel many times in the future, I thought it would be better to have a hexagon bit socket with good workability.

3. Product Review
1) Good points
- When removing the lower side cowl tapping screw, it doesn’t hit the lower side cowl.
- So far, I haven’t licked the hex holes on the bolts/tapping screws.
- When inserting the bit into the hexagonal hole of the screw, I have to hold my finger to avoid hitting other parts, but it is easier to hold my finger than with a short socket.
- Only the bit (T-04L) can be replaced when the bit is damaged.
2) Unsatisfied points
- The hexagon socket set screw that holds the bit in place loosens after use. (unavoidable due to its construction)
- In addition to the rattling of the 9.5sq connection, when the bit comes loose, I feel that the shaft is shaky. (unavoidable because the bit length is 99mm)
- The size indicator (04L) on the hexagonal bit socket is on the bit, so the letters are small and difficult to read. (due to my old eyes)
4. Summary
It may not be a high priority tool to prepare but having it does not disrupt the rhythm of the work.
Note that in the maintenance record ‘How to remove side cowls and panels etc.’, the BT3-04L is used for more than just the screws on the underside of the side cowl, but the 9.5 sq. short hexagon bit socket / BT3-04S is easier to use.
